View MoreI don’t support boycotting AB because it is a set up and it’s going to backfire. I do support boycotting actual woke branding. Look at the qualitative differences. Bud Light did a limited edition that said to a minority community that you matter to us too. That is actually something we should all affirm. It’s very different from saying we are ashamed of our Core Image because it contains or exploits a black slave or an Indian. Did Aunt Jemima’s family ask to be removed from the syrup? No. Did the Land-O-Lakes indigenous tribes complain? Not that I know of. In these cases woke culture was going off the deep end by saying things about classes of people that no one had been complaining about. That form of going woke deserves to go broke because it revises history and cancels out diversity itself. It joins BLM in tearing down statues of Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant. Boycotting those companies for those actions makes sense as a protest against wokeness gone extreme to the point of revising and erasing history. Busch did nothing to erase culture. That way. It affirmed it. What it could have done was issue an apology for its unfortunate timing in the light of the Nashville shooting. It’s missing good opportunities here. What we should be pointing to is those missed opportunities. It could be sending out public statements and setting up memorial funds for the families and schools that were victims of trans hate crimes. Sales would soar. No one would boycott. The guy using the cans for gun practice could be arrested for a hate crime. Busch could be the one to bail him out, offering an apology, taking the opportunity to explain its actual intentions. Do understand that shooting those cans WILL be interpreted by the left as far right hate speech. It will stir up more unwarranted fear in the already hyper politicized woke echo chambers that have inspired manifestos and homicide plans. How exactly does that mitigate the problem? It’s free speech for sure. It’s gun rights in use. Got it. But it’s destroying what we all want - peace and understanding.
