And I never voted until 2016. I was always surrounded by a fair amount of both in my life, and I used to always play devils advocate. I didn't ever vote as I just couldn't make up my mind. I felt that my Democrat friends spoke to my heart and I liked the intentions and ideas, but felt they fell short of reality. Where as my Republican friends views may have seemed a little more harsh on the surface, but they spoke more to the logical side of my brain and seemed to represent a more real approach to things. I used to enjoy being able to go to a bar of all places and have these discussions with people. Everything my dem friends said to me, I brought to the table with my republican friends and vice versa. In the end, I leaned more Republican, but wasn't sold. Then Obama came into office. Life went down hill so fast for so many, and the norms of living changed. I had a step son in high school, and he couldn't get a job. Everything crashed and no one could get a job, so all the jobs that in my day a high schooler would take, were taken by college graduates and adults that couldn't get anything else. That changed society in so many ways that we still haven't recovered from. Also, making health insurance mandatory, I watched more people lose their jobs, and or get demoted to part time. The small mom and pop businesses were trying to get out of paying for insurance they couldn't afford any more than their employees, while the larger ones were just trying to save their bottom line (some in greed, some not wanting to go bankrupt). Now people that did manage to keep their job, had to find a new one or get multiple jobs just to maintain their standard of living due to the cut in hours. I was never overly political and had not yet voted in my life, but I knew something was horribly wrong. I started thinking he was a Manchurian candidate without even really understanding what that meant. Then Benghazi happened. I personally knew Ty Woods who was killed in Benghazi. That put me over the edge. So, when Hillary was going to run, I felt I had to do anything I could to stop her from winning. I knew first hand how evil she was. I thought Trump would be good from a business standpoint, and I liked the Apprentice. I remember when he won I was so happy and a little fearful. I mean, what the hell did we just do, Trump, really? But then the insanity that came afterwards was something I have never experienced. The lies and hypocrisy that were getting exposed was on an uncomprehend able level to me. And the lies of the media just getting more and more exposed, yet more and more people were becoming possessed. I had close family members tell me I was racist, and worse. Long gone were the days were I could talk politics with anyone let alone go to a bar to discuss. Then Covid hit. And, well, lets just say I had almost a full year to do more research than I did in all four years of highschool. After what I have witnessed, learned, experienced, and researched. both parties can burn in Hell. It's MAGA all the way, it's us vs them and our time is coming!
